Em McFarland Oliemans
(She/They)

Program Lead (On Leave)

VICTORIA

Raised in Cottage Country (otherwise known as Peterborough, Ontario), Em is passionate about connecting people to nature. She has travelled to Europe, Central America, and all over North America, making the trans-Canada road trip three times before settling in Victoria in 2010.

With a background in drama and music, Em double-majored in psychology and sociology at the University of Victoria, before completing her Post-Grad in Therapeutic Recreation at Fleming College. With a lifetime of outdoor experiences, her certifications include sea kayaking, canoeing, and wilderness first aid. When she isn’t leading programs, you can find Em hiking through the forest, paddling down a river, or cheering (loudly) for the Toronto Blue Jays.
