Emm Bond
(She/Her)
Program Facilitator
VICTORIA
Emm grew up in the countryside of the UK and has been lucky enough to be surrounded by nature for most of her life. Since moving to Canada in 2022, she has discovered the beauty and benefits of connecting with the nature and people of turtle island. Now living and working as an uninvited guest on the lands of the W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, Emm is committed to be active in reconciliation and reconciliACTION, and is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to listen and learn from the many Indigenous groups, knowledge keepers, and elders who share their time, knowledge, and cultures with Power To Be.
Emm has been working as an outdoor leader and guide since 2017, and is so excited to be a part of the Power To Be community! During her training in the UK, Emm has qualified as both a paddle-sports and climbing instructor, and has developed and led programs from adaptive climbing and paddling to overnight expeditions in the mountains of Wales.
In addition to Emm’s outdoor career, she holds a Bachelor of Music from Royal Holloway University of London, where she specialised in Ethnomusicology and wrote her final year dissertation on environmentalism and sustainability in music practises from around the world.
When Emm isn’t out on program you can find her playing music, making something (usually knitting based) and drinking tea, and she can’t wait to discuss any of the above, including any knitting tips and tricks, and why Yorkshire tea is the best tea on earth.
