VICTORIA

Erin grew up in the West Saanich area that surrounds Power To Be’s site on Prospect Lake. She has always been inspired by the natural world and believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to seek sanctuary within it. Erin has her Red Seal Trades Certification in Landscape Horticulture and has worked in a diversity of settings including The Butchart Gardens, Horticulture College of the Pacific, Capital Regional District Parks, and Ecological Reserves. She began volunteering at Power To Be in 2023 and joined the staff team as the Environmental Stewardship and Education Program Facilitator. She helped to create and run the Landscape and Restoration program which taught young adults with self-identified disabilities horticulture and restoration skills.

Erin is currently completing her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. She spends a lot of time outside and loves to photograph plants and other beings. Her aspirations in life are to connect people with plants and to spread compassion for ecosystems.
