Maria Valderrama is originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and has called BC home for the past five years. She holds a degree in Economics and Finance and moved to Canada to pursue a Post-Degree Diploma in Marketing and Business Administration at Camosun College.
Maria discovered her passion for community work and supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) through her experiences in the nonprofit sector. She began her journey by supporting people with disabilities in finding meaningful employment, which sparked her desire to continue advocating for inclusive practices and community empowerment.
Maria found her calling in fundraising through her various roles in the nonprofit world. She is a strong advocate for education and is dedicated to creating brave spaces where communities can thrive.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys exploring new coffee shops and trying diverse cuisines. She’s a fan of hot yoga and loves jogging with her two beautiful German Shepherds.
