Sydney’s deepest (literally and figuratively) connection with nature was in the Great Barrier Reef on a dive trip. She continued diving in her home state of Kentucky in little quarries, until it was time for university at UVIC, where she graduated to the beautiful and chilly waters of BC (and graduated with an English degree).

Before Power To Be, she held roles as a cupcake baker, event coordinator, account manager, and spa reservations agent, to name a few. This is her first time working at a non-profit and she is so genuinely thrilled to work for such an important cause that she has personally felt the effects of. She is driven by making a difference, connecting with her peers, and creativity. Sydney notes that if her role here means she can help to reach as many people as possible to find a program that makes their lives better, well then that is just the greatest thing she could ever strive and hope for.

When she’s not at work, Sydney can be found in the forest with her partner and her Texas husky mix Freya, cold plunging, flowing through a fiery vinyasa sequence, or some random new craft that she has decided is her life’s calling.
