Power To Be's Quarterly Impact Report - Q2 2025

Hi there, my name is Robin and I am the new Head of Programs at Power To Be. While new to this role, I have been a community partner for over seven years, helping Power To Be introduce newcomer youth and their families to the outdoors. I’m so excited to join the team and continue lowering barriers and lifting diverse leaders.

We have had such a nourishing spring season, spending 450 hours in nature! As a gardener myself, I want to talk about our Landscaping Program. Through weekly workshops and fieldtrips, our young adult cohort dives into the fascinating world of sustainable horticulture while supporting our on-site garden. Last I checked, we had strawberries, blueberries, kale, radishes, and garlic galore. While the technical skills support future employment and volunteer opportunities, participants mentioned how taking time for mindfulness and reflection are sowing seeds for lifelong wellbeing. The food grown by the Landscaping Program will be shared with our Ferns and Salal Summer Camps – how sweet is that?

As we head into summer packed with fun and adventure, I am beyond grateful for all the support that your donations offer our community. Like any gardener knows, food tastes even better when it’s shared!
